Elijah is a man in crisis, who stands alone in trying to uphold worship of God in an increasingly hostile land. He exercises faith to his limits and takes courageous actions when prompted by the Word of the Lord. Increasingly though, the pressure mounts and he experiences a series of crisis like confrontations, with a final crisis that completely overwhelms him.

If you have been in that place of overwhelming crisis, or are in it now, the story of how God meets Elijah there, ministers to him and enables him to journey on, ultimately bringing healing and restoration can be your story too. It is a story of determination, faith, hope and courage on the part of Elijah, and loving mercy and grace at the hand of God.

This fresh perspective takes a pastoral approach; examining the cost of Elijah’s calling and focusing on his journey of healing as he experiences the generous God of grace, compassion and mercy.

Pauses for reflection opportunities scattered through the book, and questions provided at the end of each chapter would make this book an ideal accompaniment for someone to take on an individual retreat, or for use a group study guide.
