On any given day there are close to 28 million items listed for auction on the eBay site. For the year 2004, that added up to more than $34 billion worth of merchandise sold in 1.4 individual transactions -- or more than $1,000 in sales every second. eBay currently has more than 135 million registered users, double the number of users just two years previous. As more and more newbies flock to the eBay site, they need an easy-to-use guide to online auctions. Most current eBay books (including Que's very successful Absolute Beginner's Guide to eBay) use a traditional text-based approach. However, feedback from readers indicates that many inexperienced users prefer a more visual approach to the topic, such as that used in our eBay Insider "magabook." This book, Easy eBay, is a response to this user demand -- a four-color visual introduction to buying and selling on eBay. Easy eBay covers all basic buying and selling operations for the beginning user. Beginning buyers will learn how to find specific items for sale, place a bid, and pay for the items they win. Beginning sellers will learn how to create auction listings, take digital photographs of their items, accept PayPal credit card payments, and pack and ship the items they sell. All readers will learn how to navigate the eBay site, use My eBay to track their auction activity, and protect themselves from fraudulent buyers and sellers.
