Senthil, a physical therapist from Madras, has made a difficult decision: He will move to America, thousands of miles away from his sweetheart Sumathi, to secure the future of his siblings in India and save up enough to get married. Will America give Senthil the future he desires? Or will he be estranged forever from all he holds dear?

From a dedicated and charming physical therapist in India to a successful and endearing physician assistant in America, Senthil takes us through two decades of surprises and self-discovery—he wins numerous hearts but has his own torn in two.

Through a delightful series of slice-of-life vignettes spanning two continents, I Have No Earthly Idea explores the delicate balance between seeking security and following your heart. A refreshingly honest tale of love and heartbreak, S.K. Radhakrishnan's novel is a story about a man who spends his life seeking security, only to lose the one thing he holds most dear. It is a must-read for anyone who loves romance and the medical profession.

Although it's filled with subtle, bittersweet irony, the novel is so warm and heartfelt that it leaves you feeling charmed, rather than melancholic.

S.K. Radhakrishnan practiced as a physical therapist in India before coming to the United States. He was accepted into the Duke Postgraduate PA Surgical Residency Program, and after successful completion, began his career as a neurosurgical PA for Dr. Allan Friedman in the Department of Neurosurgery. Shortly thereafter, he was invited to be a guest lecturer for the Duke PA students.

In 2006, he was a recipient of the Duke Strength, Hope and Caring Award for the extraordinary provision of compassionate care for patients.
