Artikelbeschreibung des Verkäufers

Neuware - With love, longing, and respect in memory of Arif Dirlik on the 10th anniversary of his death, this book is published in English for the first time by Veysel Batmaz 'The essays in this volume were initially written as conference papers over the last two years. They argue, to the contrary, that this most recent episode of globalization not only has not eliminated earlier inequalities and divisions among peoples, it also has resurrected seemingly dormant divisions, created new ones of its own, and deepened inequalities transnationally. The globalization I am referring to here is that of the last three decades, which has been driven by a neoliberal reconfiguration of national economies across the globe, including in formerly socialist states, that, through new technologies of management, communications, production, and consumption, has opened all global spaces to penetration by the political economy and cultures of capitalism.'
