Inhaltsangabe:

Double Time is a young adult novel with the Civil War as the backdrop, where the author develops an intriguing story of courage, friendship, honor, redemption and reconciliation.

Summary: The year is 2097, and 17-year old Jason Trent travels back in time to 1863 Virginia to find his twin sister Jaynie who was accidentally transported there in her father's top-secret time machine. In a strange and hostile world, Jason meets runaway slave Daniel Williams who witnessed Jaynie's abduction by traveling minstrels. Together they track the mysterious minstrel wagon. During their three-week odyssey, they visit wartime Washington, DC, are captured as spies, encounter the Underground Railroad and ultimately stop a conspiracy that could change the course of history. Readers are introduced to a line-up of unforgettable characters, from a pair of witless soldiers to a charming Scottish canal barge captain and his dog named Shamus. Readers will thoroughly enjoy the swash-buckling adventure---and learn all about the Civil War in fascinating detail.
