Inhaltsangabe
This volume is a collection of Pepysiana, or odds and ends of information, but not so much odds and ends that this book lacks interest. It is not, however, to be read as a supplement to the diary, but rather as a companion to it, helping us to better understand the book itself, the author, and the times. In this addition to the Pepys corpus, the author has included corrections to previous notes, new material illustrating words used by Pepys, and additional illustrations of some of his words. The author's aim has been to bring together much which will help us to better understand the content of the diary and a few previously unsolved difficulties, which will hopefully greatly please prospective readers.
Reseña del editor
Excerpt from The Diary of Samuel Pepys, M. A. F. R. S
Urin G the years that the eight volumes of the Diary have been passing through the press various notes respecting the author and his work have accumulated. Some of these are corrections of statements in the notes, while still more consist of fresh material in illustration of the text. Of the latter class special mention must'be made of the new facts which Mr. Lindsay has discovered respecting the diarist's ancestry, and the will of Samuel Pepys, which is now published for the first time.
