The objective of this program is to provide instruction in the subtleties of conventional radiographic studies including plain films, barium contrast examinations and intravenous urography. The participants in this program will benefit from the interactive presentation. The cases provided include a range of orthopedic, chest, genitourinary, gastrointestinal and neurologic diseases occurring both in children and adults. At the conclusion of the program, the participant will have gained knowledge about differential diagnosis, clinical pertinence, appropriate utilization and radiological findings of each of the diseases demonstrated in these exercises. As a secondary objective the participant will be taught to appreciate the radiological manifestations of artifacts that simulate disease.
The program developer is Cel-Tech / Baker Imaging Systems, producers of multimedia multilingual continuing medical education courses on CD-ROM and the Internet for physicians and other healthcare professionals.

Über den Autor: Dr. Stephen R. Baker is Director of Radiology at University Hospital, Newark, NJ and Professor and Chairman of Radiology at New Jersey Medical School - UMDNJ. A graduate of Wesleyan University and Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Dr. Baker completed his residency at Albert Einstein in 1973. He continued his academic career at Albert Einstein becoming Acting Chairman in 1986 before moving to New Jersey Medical School in his present capacity in 1990.
Dr. Baker has contributed widely to the radiological literature. His areas of special interest are abdominal radiology, especially the plain film of the abdomen, and radiology management. He has had a life-long fascination with geography, an avocation he has pursued intensely as a long time member of the Geography Department at Columbia University, both as a graduate student and an adjunct professor. Dr. Baker is the author of more than 100 articles and nine books in Radiology, many of the most recent ones considered diagnostic imaging in a geographic context. For the past fifteen years he has been the author of the widely used and highly successful "Case of the Week" program on which this CD ROM series is based.
