Written in response to the fraudulent claims of Leo Taxil, Waite shows that there is no real "devil worship" in France and that the fake accusation against the Freemasons is simply not true. Since many people fell for Taxil's fraudulent claims, a work like this gives us an example of how to approach such studies and such claims by anyone in today's world. There are in fact many conspiracy theorists out there that are making similar if not the exact same claims that Leo Taxil was, and Waite shows us how to approach those accusations properly. Even if you do not agree with Waites ethos and esoteric background, he still allows for more critical thinking concerning any issue that comes up in the post-Satanic Panic times in the twenty-first century.
