Artikelbeschreibung des Verkäufers

Hardcover. Dark blue cloth over boards with gold lettering on spine. Binding is good and tight. DJ has mild wear along top and bottom edges; a small chip on top front edge, some creasing and a few small tears. Mild rubbing at crown and foot of DJ. Front inside flap is clipped in both corners, original price $7.50 still present in bottom left corner. The Department of State: A History of its Organization, Procedure, and Personnel by Graham H. Stuart. Drawings by Gloria E. Anderson. The Macmillan Company. Title page dated 1949. Copyright page dated 1949. Stated First Printing. 517 pages. Pages are clean, crisp, and bright, lightly toned from age. This copy was previous owned by Murrey Marder and his bookplate is attached to half-title page with his name written in ink in the corner, dated "Harvard 1950." Murrey Marder was a reporter for the Washington Post, best known for his coverage of Senator McCarthy's anti-Communist crusade. Marder's criticism and skepticism of McCarthy helped delegitimize him as a political figure. This copy also includes a print-out obituary for Marder as well as a torn-out introduction to a book about Churchill. Overall a very nice copy. Please email with questions or to request photos. Note: if there is a photo beside this listing, its a STOCK photo that ABE put there (for reasons that we cannot understand or control) and might not match this actual book.…

In warmer months we stay open until 9 most nights, but you might want to call ahead. (540) 373-6148 Shipping rates are for Media Mail, in a padded envelope - WE DO NOT ADD TRACKING UNLESS THE CUSTOMER REQUESTS IT AND PAYS FOR IT - we have been selling books online for more than 20 years & find that the USPO delivers 99.99% of packages quickly and safely, without any need for a tracking number. We trust them & we hope you will too. If you need tracking, please consider PRIORITY SHIPPING. We ship orders valued at more than $50 in a box, at no additional charge. Priority mailing is for a Flat-Rate envelope, with tracking included. If the book does not fit into a flat rate envelope, we will likely need to request extra shipping costs from you, in order to put it in a box. We only charge the actual amount of shipping, so we hope you'll understand that it's just a matter of getting the book to you without taking a loss on it -- shipping is a service we happily offer without a 'handling' charge.... but we can't afford to charge you less than the cost of the stamps!…
