Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor: Beth Gazley, Ph.D. teaches nonprofit and public management in the School of Public and Environmental Affairs (SPEA) at Indiana University-Bloomington. She has conducted research and published on civic engagement and volunteer management, government-nonprofit relations, nonprofit management capacity, and other topics related to civil society. Professor Gazley has received recognition from the Academy of Management and the Association for Research on Nonprofit Organizations and Voluntary Action (ARNOVA) for her research. She was a 2009 recipient of an Indiana University Outstanding Junior Faculty Award and a 2007 recipient of a Trustee Teaching Award. Monica Dignam is vice president, research, at ASAE & The Center for Association Leadership. She has been a professional researcher for more than 30 years. Before coming to ASAE & The Center in 2004, Dignam was president of Monalco, Inc., a Milwaukee firm specializing in research for associations. She was also an active volunteer, serving on the ASAE Marketing Section Council and contributing as both a writer and as a speaker to ASAE & The Center and a number of allied societies of association executives.
