Death and Resurrection: 1 (The Ballad of Broken Song)

On a far off planet, Gideon turns seventeen. As is tradition, he is led from his home in Broken Song into the desert by his carer, Ka Pinto, who waits and witnesses the boy's death and resurrection. This is how it has always been, and no-one has ever thought to question why. Two days later, Ka Pinto lies dead himself, and Gideon stands over the body, oblivious to how he got there, setting into motion a chain of events that spans multiple worlds with multiple races, pulling together characters from all walks of life in an effort to overcome an enemy that threatens to kill them all.
