Although the "Advance Reading Copy" for the later New American Library is frequently encountered, this volume of "unrevised and unpublished proofs" is not common. This volume is accompanied by a photocopied sheet of blurb from the publishers. Both this and the front wrapper state publication on 16 August 1979.
