Dance for All 1

Dance for All 1 sets out a series of wide-ranging ideas for dance teaching at Key Stage 1 which meet with the National Curriculum requirement that children are actively involved in the planning, performing and evaluation of their own work. Five self-contained lesson units are grouped under each of six themes, with suggestions for music and other stimuli which will help the teacher to develop all aspects of the pupils' dance skills. Themes reflect topics from other areas of the curriculum, allowing the teacher to integrate work in dance with other classroom activities.
Based on the considerable dance teaching experience of both authors, this book will provide teachers of mainstream and special needs pupils at Key Stage 1 with a scheme of work and a source of ideas which can be adapted and developed according to the teacher's interest and experience. It will also be an aid to INSET coordinators and PE and Arts coordinators in primary schools.
