Shortlisted for the 2026 International Rubery Book Award in the Illustrated Children's Books category, Damson's Friendship Wish is a No. 1 bestselling picture book loved by families, teachers, libraries and disability advocates for its inclusive message and gentle storytelling.

Meet Damson, a young deer who lives in the forest. Today is his birthday, and he longs for friends to celebrate with. But Damson feels different from the other deer.

Follow Damson as he tries to fit in by copying other animals, even if it means tumbling into rabbit burrows and scaring away birds. Will Damson ever find the friends he's looking for?

In Damson's Friendship Wish, children will discover the magic of kindness and being true to themselves, as Damson realises that our differences make us unique and that he is already loved just as he is.
