Celebrating 30 years of the zombie-themed comedy, DEAD FUNNY : THE RISE OF THE ZOM-COM re-traces the path that led to Edgar Wright's benchmark 2004 production, SHAUN OF THE DEAD. Opening with Dan O'Bannon's undead pantomime RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD (1985) and Peter Jackson's stomach-turning BRAINDEAD (1992), alongside such global presentations as Hong Kong's BIO-ZOMBIE (1998), New Zealand's BLACK SHEEP (2006), and Finland's DOD SNO (DEAD SNOW)(2009), DEAD FUNNY:THE RISE OF THE ZOM-COM examines the continuing popularity of the comic/horror hybrid. Taking in SHAUN OF THE DEAD (2004), ZOMBIELAND (2009), ZOMBEAVERS (2015), and THE SCOUTS GUIDE TO THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE (2015) MILLENNIUM MONSTERS co-collaborators Andy Ross and Ash Loydon observe a light-hearted overview of the zombie themed comedy.
