According to a recent article in The New York Times, academic criminal justice is undergoing explosive growth. One reason for the large and rapidly growing cadre of criminal justice majors is a fascination with criminals, and a desire to understand criminal behavior. Popular movies and television shows, combined with real-life events such as the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, have inspired students who want to make a personal difference in the fight against crime and violence.
