Written from a soldier's point of view, The Conquerors of Palestine is one cohesive account, collected from the stories and research of many sources, of the history of invasions in Palestine over forty centuries. It includes an Introduction by both General Sir Edmund Allenby and author M.O. Lock, chapters for each conqueror, including the Egyptians, the Jews, the Greeks, the Romans, and the British, as well as appendices and a detailed map. Written for those who fought in, traveled through, or had general interest in the "Holy Land," The Conquerors of Palestine condenses and brings to life the weighty past of one of the most famous countries in the world. MAJOR H.O. LOCK was a major in the British Army, Dorsetshire Regiment, who served in Palestine from 1917-1918. He wrote The Conquerors of Palestine, a comprehensive account of the history of the invasions of Palestine, and With the British Army in the Holy Land, a book about his experiences during the British invasions of Sinai and Palestine.
