Theaimofthisconferenceserieshas- waysbeentosupporttheinternationalconceptualstructurescommunitywith aforumfordiscussionandpresentation. Theconferencehascontinuallybro- eneditsscopeoverthelastseveralyears,sothatresearchinformalconcept analysis,ontologies,descriptionlogics,situationtheory,constraintsanalysis,d- courserepresentationtheory,SNePS,andmanyothertechniqueshaveallbeen presentedanddiscussed. Thisyear,weadoptedtheconferencethemeof IntegrationandInterfaces in ordertoencourageallmembersofthecommunitytoparticipateindiscussions onunifyingthemanyaspectsofconceptualstructures. ThepurposeofICCS 2002wastoserveasaforumforresearchersinthemanyareasofconceptual structurestodiscusstheirworkandto ndcommongroundacrossdiscipline boundaries. Allofthepaperscontainedinthisvolumewerereviewedintheirfulllength byatleasttworeviewersaswellasamemberoftheEditorialBoard.
