Based on a centralized bureaucracy, the Kakatiya state could be broadly characterized as feudal. Trade flourished under a system of guilds and led to the growth of a number of urban centers. The institution of the temple gained significance, facilitated by royal patronage. Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor
Working Editor: K.S. Kameswara Rao has an MA and Ph.D. in History from Andhra University. Actively associated with the Andhra Pradesh History Congress since its inception, he was also its general secretary. He retired as reader in history from Ideal College, Kakinada.
Coordinating Executive Editor: Satyanarayana, professor of history, Osmania University, Hyderabad, specialized in modern Indian history with special reference to social movements, identity politics and diaspora studies. His latest publications include Dalits and Upper Castes: Essays in Social History and Economy and Society and Polity: Studies in Agrarian History. He has presided over the modern India section of the Indian History Congress and is a member of the Indian Council of Historical Research.
Editor: Somasundara Rao, Professor (Retd.), obtained an MA (History and Archaeology), MA (Hons) and Ph.D. from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, and specialized in the ancient and medieval history of Andhra Pradesh with particular emphasis on epigraphy. He was initiated into epigraphical research by the noted epigraphist and historian, Mallampalli Somasekhara Sarma. He has presided over the medieval history section of the Andhra Pradesh History Congress, the political history section of the South Indian History Congress and the ancient history section of the Indian History Congress, and served as the President of the South Indian Numismatic Society.
