Pen inscription to front free endpaper. Boards have mild edge-wear with slight rubbing to surfaces. Slight crushing to spine ends. Gilt lettering is bright and clear. Book has a slight forward lean. Clipped jacket. Panels and spine has moderate edgewear with chips, tears and creasing. Small loss to spine. Heavier tanning to spine and inside panels and wear marks throughout. James Thomson (1700 - 1748) was a Scottish poet and playwright and is perhaps best known for his lyrics of 'Rule, Britannia!' He is depicted on the Scott Monument. Features Thomson's collection of poems: Seasons, along with his Epistles and a selection of Juvenalia. In a full, padded leather binding with gilt lettering to the spine, with a gilt monogram 'JT' to the front board. Externally, excellent with only shelfwear to the head and tail of spine, and slight fading to the spine. Internally, lovely. Pages are bright and clean. Firmly bound. Very Good. book. Artikel-Nr.
