It may be asked, why occupy time and space in describ ing all those simple operations which every one is supposed to be well acquainted with? To this I reply, it is for this very reason I do it; so prone are junior - ipr-adtitioners and students to run after and interest themselves with great operations, that seldom occur in practice, that they neglect to learn how to perform neatly those which occur daily and hourly in every one's practice. The simplest of all operations is often performed without any regard to deli cacy or neatness, and sometimes very inefficiently.
