Reseña del editor: From July 1996, learner drivers will have to pass a Highway Code Theory Test before they can attempt the practical test. This practical test may be taken as many times as necessary after the Theory Test has been passed. But nobody will gain a full driving licence without first suceeding in the Theory paper. The Theory Test should ensure much more focus on the responsibility that goes with driving a potentially lethal machine. It will emphasize those aspects of the Highway Code which foster alertness, better judgement, a positive attitude to other drivers, vehicle faults, the environment, road conditions, vehicle handling and accident risk.
