The catalogue for a 1925 auction sale of the art collected by Camillo Castiglioni, which took placed under the direction of Frederik Muller & Cie in Amsterdam.Published in three volumes in 1925-26, this is Volume I only.This volume focuses on the sale of the sculptures, furnitature, gold jewelry, tapestries, carpets, fabric, and Chinese porcelain.Camillo Castiglioni was the wealthiest man in Central Europe during World War I, a pioneer in aviation, and one of those instrumental in the founding of what would eventually become BMW AG.Illustrated with seventy six plates.Collated, complete, with one additional plate bound to the front after the front free endpaper. Bound in a half cloth binding with paper to the boards. Externally, generally smart. Cracks to the head of the joints, and to the tail of the rear joint. Minor bumping to the extremities. Tidemark to the head of the rear board. Some light marks to the boards and spine. Small chip to the spine and to the tail of the spine. Stamp of the auctioneer to the recto of the front free endpaper. One additional plate bound after the front free endpaper. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
