You’ve heard HER story — now it’s time for MINE. Everyone thinks I’m the wicked stepmother, but what if everything you know about Cinderella is wrong? What if the glass slipper, the pumpkin carriage, and even those fictitious rats weren’t quite what they seemed?

In this hilariously eye-opening twist on the classic tale, the stepmother finally steps up to set the record straight. From cleaning up royal drama to surviving two spoiled stepsisters and one suspiciously perfect girl, she’s here to spill the tea — fairy-tale style!

Was she really cruel, or just misunderstood? Get ready to laugh, gasp, and rethink everything you thought you knew about happily ever after.

the stepmother’s version

I currently work as a Grade Supervisor at the George Headley Primary School. I also serve as the literacy coordinator, student leadership supervisor, teacher-in-charge of the Brownie Pack, and mentor to junior teachers.

From a tender age, reading has been a hobby which lasted into my adult life. Fictional books were always a favourite, especially those that included princesses and a happily ever after moment.

While completing my Bachelor's in Primary Education, I was tasked with playing Cinderella’s stepmother, thereby retelling the story from my point of view. My lecturer was quite impressed and said, “I would love to read this story in a book format.” The rest, they say, is history.
