The Church's One Foundation Is Not Cement

On any Sunday morning there are millions of people in the U.S. who go to church; many more in the rest of the world. They may also have an evening and a weekday service. That was my routine for most of my life. The writings that follow will seek to draw a comparison between, what I will call, man's churches, and the real Church of Jesus Christ. I am not proposing any kind of revolution. There will be no ugly criticism; just some thoughts. I will strive to show that it is a concern to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  He wants all our love and I feel He is saddened over the heart, soul, mind and money we have kept from Him. Instead we have given these things to the pastors, priests, rites, services, budgets and buildings of man's churches.

Author_Bio: I have lived most of a century. In years past I was a committed, active layman in a major denomination for many years. I taught Bible classes, was an elder/deacon, served on boards, sang in the choir, helped at the altar and was active in evangelism. But I began to wonder about the time spent in programs and services and rituals. When I expressed my concerns about the organized churches the pastor said, "If you don't have an organized church then you have a disorganized church". Sounds pretty simple doesn't it? But the point is in the word church. Are we talking about the Church of Jesus Christ or man's churches? The Church of Jesus Christ can be said to be an invisible Church. There are no buildings, no priests or pastors. No organizations or committees. No rituals or doctrines. No money. There is Jesus and under Him are all who have believed in Him and placed their trust in Him.
