While in recent years much attention among theologians has been focused on the city and on what makes a good city, much of (church) life in Britain takes place in the context of rural communities. In the context of their daily work, clergy find themselves confronted with complex ethical, political and social issues. Tim Gibson is a writer, priest and academic based in rural Somerset. Currently Deputy Head of the School of Creative and Cultural Industries at UWE Bristol, he has been involved in various ways in ministerial training and formation for the Church of England since 2005. He assists with parish ministry in his local deanery.
