Inhaltsangabe
Christian Active Parenting calls upon the wisdom of the Bible to give parents the strength and skills needed to raise upstanding, courageous children. Six illuminating chapters use scripture to explore the essential Active Parenting model: encouragement, communication, and non-violent discipline.
Written for parents of children ages 5 to 12, Christian Active Parenting helps them cope with challenges including bullying, drug prevention, and making the word of God central to their children's busy lives.

Michael H. Popkin, Ph.D., is the author of over twenty-five books and video programs on parenting, including Taming the Spirited Child and Active Parenting of Teens. A frequent media guest, he has appeared on hundreds of television shows including "The Oprah Winfrey Show," PBS, and CNN. He and his wife, Melody, live and work together in Atlanta and are the parents of two young adult children, Megan and Ben.
Melody F. Popkin is Manager of Christian Resources at Active Parenting. She works alongside her husband, Dr. Michael H. Popkin. Before the birth of their two children, Melody worked as a trainer for Peachtree Software, organizing and teaching courses and writing training materials. Melody spends much of her time in the faith community where she participated in Bible and Christian program studies. These twin paths led to a desire to help create a Christian version of the increasingly successful Active Parenting program. Encouraged by Michael, and with the help of co-author Sue Allen, she has been pleased to see Christian Active Parenting become a reality. Her greatest hope for this program is that it will improve the lives of children and their families.
Raised in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio, Sue Allen holds a master’s degree in Human Development and Family Relations from the University of Connecticut. She is a clinical member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and was a therapist for children and teens, couples and adults for 9 years before staying home full-time to nurture her four children for 11 years. Currently, Sue is the Director of Women’s Discipleship at Northside Church in Atlanta, and is receiving advanced training in Spirituality and Counseling from Richmont Graduate University. Raising Kyler (15), Tessa (13), Adrianna (11), and Jeremiah (8) with her husband, Steve, Sue enjoys writing daily, leading weekly Bible studies, and providing Christ-centered counsel for those seeking the courage to soar.
