Ian Fleming (1908–1964) is best known as the creator of the world's most famous spy, James Bond. Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang, Fleming’s only children’s book, was written towards the end of his life for his young son, Caspar. It was first published in 1964 and was later turned into a much-loved film and, more recently, a successful stage production.
