China (Our Country)

This series gives young children a simple introduction to primary geography. Each book introduces a country through a series of topics such as weather, farming, homes and food. Each topic is accompanied by short interviews with children from different backgrounds and parts of the country who talk about their own experiences. The books are illustrated with colour photographs and simple maps. This book looks at China and its landscapes, weather, farming, industry and way of life through text and interviews with young Chinese children who describe their schools, homes, food, pastimes and families. By reading the main text, children can learn about China's enormous population, its hot south and cold Tibetan mountains, its rice fields and pig farms and its ancient customs and religions.
