Jill Lemons Doty M.S.Ed. shares her passionate stance on shifting emphasis from test scores to coping skills in our schools--what she refers to as "the forgotten education." These deeply personal accounts of both Jill and her students will challenge the reader to question today's single-minded quest for educational reform.

Jill Lemons Doty has worked with countless students and educators over the years. From the beginning of her career in 1982, her passion for teaching to the whole person, with the primary emphasis on teaching skills that promote emotional intelligence, has been evident. Jill reflects on her own childhood as a gift from her parents. She credits them for having helped pave her way in life as a mother, educator, and author. Starting with her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Nebraska in 1982, and her 1996 Master’s Degree from the University of Nebraska at Kearney, Jill has dedicated her life to helping others. She has two grown children and currently resides in Colorado where she serves as a counselor in an area high school.
