This is a tremendously exciting book. It reveals Hitler's daring plan for invasion of Canada and the United States, which was stopped only by the fierce resistance of Russia to the German armies on the Eastern front, and the hurried building of Canada's northern defenses.

Commander Carr first outlines the Nazi plan for world conquest; describes the College of Geo-Political Science in Berlin, the recruiting and training of the German Fifth Column, and then tells the thrilling story of how Canada met the challenge of invasion.

The story of the building of the Goose bay Air Base in Labrador, largest in the world, is told from first hand knowledge and from information given to him by Bill Durrell, General Superintendent of the Canadian MacNamara Construction Company, who accomplished this herculean task in record time. It is one of the most amazing feats of construction accomplished in this war.

Commander Carr is a born story-teller and his stories of Canadians who have worked wonders in the building and manning of Canada's northern defenses are true modern hero tales.
