The average length of a human genome is approximately six feet.

Which, co-incidentally, is the average depth of a human grave.

When Portia Black wakes up, drugged and in a strange apartment, her first instinct is to run. After all she’s not the kind of girl authorities are sympathetic to. It doesn’t help that she’s a professional vigilante, settling scores for other girls like her who have been failed by the system, and it definitely doesn’t help that Nathan Hunter, her kidnapper, is one of the wealthiest bachelors in LA. But this is no date rape. Hunter is missing, the only trace of him is a severed finger in the freezer, and there’s a sutured knot in Portia’s jaw where her wisdom tooth used to be.

Portia should know, she’s buried more than her share of bad guys with six feet of DNA. But when pieces of the girls she’s rescued begin to turn up with her cells on them, Portia realizes she’s been cell-jacked. Now the only hope to retrieve her stolen genetic identity is to rescue the man who attacked her before someone else finds him first. But as the body parts pile up, the questions she’s been afraid to ask start popping up. Is Hunter really the person everyone thinks he is? How are the girls connected to him? And, most importantly, are her girls really dead?
