Michael J. Shannon is a resident of Fort Worth, Texas. He is married with a 21-year-old daughter and an 18-year-old son. He began configuring hubs and routers in the early '90s while working as a network technician for an Arizona telecommunications company. He has been implementing, consulting, and instructing on internetworking technology for over 12 years.
Mr. Shannon is a full-time author and consultant who has been employed as a senior technician, trainer, consultant, and mentor throughout the U.S. for companies such as ExecuTrain, Mindworks, Mastering Computers, Platinum Technology, and Fujitsu. He holds the CCNP, MCSE 2000, Network+, and iNet+ networking-related certifications. As a security professional, he holds the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and the HIPAA Certified Security Specialist (HCSS) certifications. He also has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lubbock Christian University.
His hobbies are producing and writing original music, playing guitar, and golfing.
