It is a superbly illustrated look at the work of artist and sculptor Catherine Lee. The work of American artist Catherine Lee conveys a complex dialogue between elements of abstraction and reference in which seemingly archaic forms are revised, adapted, and repeated to evoke intense personal associations. While maintaining an awareness that it is the abstract that is the most concrete and that her references serve as paths to physical immediacy, Lee's work continues to explore and challenge the parameters of light, colour, form, and surface. Produced in conjunction with the West Texas Triangle, this publication presents selections from a wide array of the artist's sculptures, paintings, prints, and ceramic works.
