Canada: A National History and Media Companion CD-ROM, Second Edition
Canada : A National History, Second Edition provides a fresh and provocative view of our nation’s history, focusing on the social history of ordinary Canadians and offering extensive political history insight and coverage.
This concise yet comprehensive text, skillfully condensed from the two-volume History of the Canadian Peoples series, has been thoroughly revised incorporating important new research, data and discussion of political events, such as the 2004 federal election, gay marriage, the Romanow report, and more.
A new “Related Readings” section at the end of each chapter guides readers to related primary source documents in the companion CD-ROM (found inside). The text also features two new appendices: Canada’s Population and Canada’s Prime Ministers.
Margaret Conrad has written widely on the history of women and Atlantic Canada. A member of the history department at Acadia University from 1969 to 2003, she currently holds a Canada Research Chair in Atlantic Canada Studies at the University of New Brunswick.
Alvin Finkel ’s books include histories of post-war Canada, the Canadian welfare state, the Social Credit party, and European interwar diplomacy. He is a professor at Athabasca University, Centre for State and Legal Studies.
