What is remarkable about this edition are the 48 exquisite full-page, full-color illustrations of butterflies in natural settings, 6" x 8". 286 p., clean and unmarked anywhere on strong paper, mildly age-toned; binding firm; boards somewhat different from what is presented here: the front board is stamped with gilt image of sundial, fluttering butterflies and "The Nature Library" forming arch above it; spine has gilt lettering on lighter green patches, marred by stain; and gilt decoration.
