Daniel D. Watch, AIA, is an architect and research expert with the Atlanta office of Perkins+Will, one of the largest American architecture firms designing laboratory facilities. Watch is a leader in the firm's Science & Technology group, coordinating the design of laboratory facilities for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Department of Homeland Security's NBACC and NBAF research buildings, several academic research buildings, and six projects based in China since publication of the first edition. He has been invited to speak at the National Institutes of Health, the Academy of Sciences in Beijing, Harvard University, Edinburgh's Science Parks, and University of Cambridge, England. Stephen A. Kliment, FAIA, the series founder and editor, is an architectural journalist and an adjunct professor at the City College of New York. He was editor in chief of Architectural Record from 1990 to 1996.
