"Dee" Lawhorn knows the dangers and pitfalls of questionable environments all too well. From family drama to neighborhood opportunities to everything but the right thing, Dee knows these things can errantly shape how one sees themselves and who they become. In this book, A Broken Heart = A Fixed Vision, he pours out his spirit and experiences so conversationally that each page feels like an old friend having an inspiring talk with you. He reminds us that the challenging beginning of a thing, even one's life, doesn't have to end with struggle, strife, or stress. It can be transformed into vision, purpose, and a desire to help others.

Derwin "Dee" Lawhorn, Jr., raised on the Westside of Detroit, is a one-of-a-kind, self-proclaimed overcomer, a husband, and a girl-dad. When not cherishing his family, he mentors in his community and, more importantly, prides himself on serving others personally and professionally. His internal work made room for him to excel in the healthcare field and to be named Director of Transportation at a multi-building housing development service in Saline, MI, specializing in nursing, rehabilitation, memory care, and assisted living. Having empathy, relatability, and grace to the generations before him has always been his priority, and it has served him well in the marketplace.
