One sunny afternoon, Boon's mission hits close to home when a tiny, whiskered nose pops out from under his backyard fence. Meet Gary, a little groundhog who is "super shy" and spooks easily at new things and loud sounds. Boone knows that friendships can't be rushed. With incredible patience, be begins leaving daily surprises for his new neighbor. Through muddy puddles and shared toys and treats, Boone shows Gary that the world isn't so scary after all, especially when you have a friend by your side. Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor
Tanya Diable is the President and founder of Joey's P.A.W. She started this non-profit in the hopes to make a difference in the lives of dogs who need assistance in mobility. She and her husband, Charlie, adopt dogs with many different special needs and see the joy in having them overcome obstacles and live their best lives. She wants to see that same transformation in the dogs they assist. Boone is 1 of 6 of their special needs dogs and has recently passed his Therapy Dog training certification. Besides her work with Joey's PAW, she spends a lot of time volunteering with Boone in schools, children's hospitals, as well as the Pittsburgh International Airport. For those close to Tanya, her other favorite passion is everything Christmas and especially Hallmark Christmas movies!
