Inhaltsangabe:

Boston’s Secret Spaces offers tantalizing peeks into places ordinary mortals rarely see. Published in partnership withThe Boston Globe and based on the exceedingly popular Boston.com feature (3.2 million page views and counting)—and with an introduction by Boston hotelier extraordinaire Robin Brown—this book’s unparalleled compilation of photos and text on fifty of greater Boston’s most intriguing spaces makes it a unique resource that will be treasured by residents and visitors alike.

The book takes readers behind the scenes at such sports hot spots as inside the scoreboard at Fenway and Tom Brady’s locker to historical landmarks like JFK’s private dining room at Locke-Ober, as well as to such offbeat locales as MIT’s nuclear reactor, and a drag queen’s dressing room.

Robin Brown was formerly the general manager of the Four Seasons Hotel Boston and is currently the manager of The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Boston. Foreword by hotelier extraordinaire Robin Brown. During 13 years as general manager of the Four Seasons Hotel Boston, he transformed it into the city's first five-star hotel and restaurant as he pampered power brokers, celebrities, and dignitaries. Today, he is parlaying his reputation -- and the connections he made at the Four Seasons -- into a top-flight hotel and condominium project, The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Boston, opening Summer 2008.

Mr. Brown’s reputation as an outstanding hotelier is matched by his personal commitment to the Boston community. He has served as Vice Chairman of the Wang Center for the Performing Arts for over 10 years, and is a Trustee for the Beth Israel/Deaconess Hospital. Mr. Brown is also Director of the Boston Library Foundation, and serves as Vice Chairman of the Back Bay Association of Boston. He recently launched a foundation dedicated to the support of Alzheimer’s research in memory of his father, Jim Brown. Due to the guidance of Mr. Brown’s fundraising and event planning, the foundation has been able to fund multiple research and care projects at Boston-area facilities as well as underwrite a film and book which are distributed to new Alzheimer patients across the country.

Mr. Brown has served as an Overseer to the Boston Symphony Orchestra for over 10 years and is now currently involved in multiple aspects in fundraising, historical renovation, community outreach and community care for Park Street Church in Boston. Mr. Brown has dedicated hundreds of hours to dozens of charities throughout the Boston area in their fundraising efforts. He has served as MC and auctioneer at these events raising well over $5 million for charities over the years.
