Originally published by Thorsons, We Borrow the Earth reveals the experiences and knowledge of one of the few remaining 'chovihanos' (Gypsy shamans) still practising in Britain. Drawing on his personal experience and the story of his lineage, Patrick Lee explores the history and culture of his people and their knowledge of the ancient arts of healing and prophesy. He includes chapters on their customs as well as looking at their potions, spells, charms and curses in an open way. In this latest edition, there is a brand new chapter entitled Encounters with Ancient Spirits Using Gypsy Magic. Patrick Jasper Lee was trained in these ancient traditions by his Romani great-grandfather, a practising Chovihano, and has himself been practising as a Chovihano for the past thirty years.
