When parents divorce, children often wish they could put their family back together. Ten-year-old Bonnie is determined to try.

After her parents’ divorce, Bonnie moves with her baby brother, J.J., and Momma to her grandparents’ Texas farm while Daddy moves to Chicago. Everything in her life has changed, and Bonnie isn’t ready to accept that her family may never be the same.

When Daddy sends her a plane ticket to visit him, Bonnie packs her suitcase, faces her fear of flying, and secretly makes a plan: she’ll convince Daddy to come home and make their family whole again.

But when Bonnie arrives in Chicago, she discovers Daddy has a plan of his own. One that will bring even more changes to her life.

Bonnie In-Between is a heartfelt middle-grade novel about divorce, family changes, resilience, and learning to adjust when parents separate. Written for readers ages 8–12, it explores the emotions children may experience when their family changes and the realization that moving forward sometimes means letting go of the way things used to be.
