Chapter One
Created to Bloom
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it in the full. —John 10:10
We were created to blossom. It is not God's desire that we live defeated, unfruitful, worried, and always on edge. He wants us to have an abundant life, be fruitful, and multiply. He has promised to beautify us with His salvation, and He commanded us to shine His light to the dying world. The fruits of the spirit in Galatians 5:22 are love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, and faithfulness. The desire of every Christian should be to bear the fruit of the spirit and reflect who our God is. He created us to conform to the image of His Son, whose character demonstrated significance, extraordinary life, fruitfulness, and prosperity, and He made His life count. God said He will not hold His peace until righteous goes forth and salvation is a lamp that burns.
Most of us desire the power, the anointing, and the effectiveness that Jesus had, but we don't really seem to seek to walk in the path Jesus walked. As a result, we get frustrated and stop trying and settle where we are, which is barely enough. A lot has been taught on the love of God, His faithfulness, mercies, forgiveness, and power, and people seem to have grasped this so far. The question still remains: What is stopping Christians from living an abundant life? This book attempts to unravel the puzzle, one of the believer's cooperation with the Holy Spirit in allowing us to conform to His image through the process of spiritual growth and be effective in doing the good works He created us for. This book will help us set our minds to the task and walk with supernatural abilities.
Many believers are deceived into thinking that when we get saved, we instantly produce fruit without having to go through the process of sanctification. The book attempts to show the importance of being rooted and grounded in our faith, and it ties together key truths necessary to bring about mature, well-rounded believers. The central focus of this book is the finished work of the cross, which is the power we need to accomplish what He has called us to do. Our eyes ought to be focused on His crucifixion. The truths discussed in the thirteen chapters of this book would not contain the power that they ought to hold if Jesus Christ and the power of His resurrection were left out.
We please God when we are willing to work out our salvation and press to our highest calling, thus bringing glory to His name. We probably need to start asking if we are claiming a harvest for which we never planted seeds, a teaching that goes against what the Bible teaches us. God has already promised that we will eat the best of the land if we are willing and obedient. Therefore, it would be foolish to claim the promise without keeping the condition.
Jesus said that the kingdom of God is within us (Luke 17:21). For us to have success in pressing toward a higher calling, we have to understand who we are and what our purpose here on earth is. We have to understand the kingdom of God and its principles. We need to stop looking for the kingdom of God outside of us and realize everything we need is within us. Once we have accepted Jesus as our personal savior, He was born in us spiritually. All His fullness is in us. The kingdom of God is readily accessible to us. We just need to know how to withdraw the power from within.
The book of Ephesians is a powerful book. It explains everything. We are chosen from the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:4), and through Jesus Christ, God is molding us to be like Jesus. When Jesus comes the second time, He will come back for a church without a wrinkle or spot. When we allow ourselves to be transformed so that we are like Jesus, we start walking with an excellence that the world will notice and desire to have. We need to understand that we belong to God. He calls us His children. John 1:12 says, "As many as received Him, he gave them the power to become His children." We are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God. We should start thinking and acting like God's children and start applying the laws of His Kingdom.
I believe one of the reasons some of God's children are living less than God's best is because they have not grasped, meditated, and believed who they really are. We need to stop living life with a worldly perspective and start living life with God's perspective. As you read this book, it is important that you focus your minds to the perspective of God's kingdom. Hopefully, it will make you more alert to living the kingdom way, for 1 Corinthians 1:18 tells us that "the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing," but for us pursuing excellence in the things of God, they are "the power to our salvation."
Christians are being trained and prepared to rule and reign with Jesus. We need to realize that God is our master and sacrifice our lives for Him. Everything we do, we should do to please Him only. A woman who lives with an eternal perspective will be able to overcome great obstacles here on earth because she is expecting a much greater heavenly reward. There are greater riches to expect, greater than her paycheck. She expects her favor and reward from her God and not her boss or her husband and children. The mindset of this kind of a woman is set on the things of above, when confronted by obstacles, she turns them in to stepping stones. Her source is her God not the worldly systems. As this woman presses toward her higher calling, she chooses friends wisely because she has a vision to fulfill, and knows what kind of friends will help her accomplish her goals. Similarly, she discerns bad company that will take her away from fulfilling the call of God in her life.
A woman after God's heart pleases God and keeps His commandments. She increases in favor with God and her fellow man because she has a magnet that attracts others to her. She mostly focuses on inner beauty but also understands she needs keep her body and mind fit for her King because she also understands that she is the temple of the living God who dwells inside her. This woman's desire is to be influential...
