The book comprises four original novellas with the title story (the length of a short novel) featuring Holly Gibney, first seen in the Mr Mercedes trilogy and most recently in The Outsider, which was a No. 1 Bestseller.
The short story novella form is one that King has explored with huge success in much loved collections Different Seasons and Full Dark, No Stars, from which have been adapted celebrated films, including Stand By Me and The Shawshank Redemption.
