Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor: Sage Moon (he/they) is a queer author, book reviewer, and promoter. He is also known as "The Horror Maven," and actively promotes horror by marginalized voices and indie presses. They are the author of three novels, and their poems and short stories have been published in a slew of anthologies. Sage is an experienced book interior designer, marketer, and business owner. They have been a part of the indie writing community since 2013, when an independent publisher published their first book during their senior year of high school. Having worked in and seen the publishing industry from so many sides - as a writer, reviewer, promoter, and publisher - he brings personal insight to Pride with a Bite and knows how to navigate publishing based on direct experience. After being involved in the horror community for so long, Sage recognized a growing need for more opportunities and visibility for queer horror creators. Pride with a Bite was built on this passion. Outside of the literary space, Sage is a mental health specialist & bibliotherapist. They own a holistic mental health private practice for the queer community. One of his specialties is utilizing horror literature with clients to address phobias, anxiety disorders, stress, and trauma. Sage's mental health articles have been published by the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) on their blog and magazine, The Advocate, as well as The Mighty, Recovery.com, and other outlets. He is passionate about sharing the healing power of horror and books, as well as addressing ways that mental illness and mental health can be appropriately represented in horror, instead of being used as a scare tactic.
