"Big Week" was a key pivot point during World War II, yet its remarkable story has not been widely told before.

James Holland is a rising star among military historians. His great skill lies in narrating the big picture through the experiences of those who lived through the events-leaders and, especially, unknown characters on both sides. He is a superb storyteller and a stellar historian.

Holland is rapidly gaining a following in the U.S. He has an open invitation to speak at the World War II Museum in New Orleans and the Pritzker Military Museum & Library in Chicago, among other venues.

We will publish in November 2018, just prior to the 75th anniversary of "Big Week," and expect widespread reviews and media coverage and opportunities for interviews extending through the anniversary in February 2019. (Big Week will be published in the U.K. in September 2018).

This book logically fits between Volumes 2 and 3 of Holland's acclaimed 3-volume history of World War II in the West. The first two books-The Rise of Germany and The Allies Strike Back-have received rave reviews.

Holland directs the very popular Chalke Valley History Festival every summer in the U.K.

James Holland is a historian, writer, and broadcaster. The author of The Rise of Germany, 1939-1941 and The Allies Strike Back, 1941-1943, the first two books in The War in the West series, as well as the bestselling Fortress Malta, Battle of Britain, and Dam Busters, he has also written numerous works of historical fiction. Holland regularly appears on television and radio and has written and presented the BAFTA-shortlisted documentaries Battle of Britain and Dam Busters for the BBC, among others. His writing has appeared in magazines and newspapers including the Sunday Telegraph, for whom he went to Helmand Province in Afghanistan, the Times, Daily Mail, and BBC History Magazine. A fellow of the Royal Historical Society, and cofounder and program director of the hugely successful Chalke Valley History Festival, Holland has also advised the British government on history curriculum and has his own collection at the Imperial War Museum.
