The Best of Irish Cooking pulls together a collection of the finest Irish recipes. Using fresh ingredients throughout, the book covers the full range of Irish recipes, from soups and starters through game, fish and meat main courses to desserts and cakes. Not surprisingly the humble potato features, and dishes like colcannon and champ are included. Although Irish cooking was renowned for being frugal, that never detracted from the taste as many of the griddle bakes and easy cakes will attest. And Irish whiskey also features in a variety of guises, from fish courses and beef stews to Irish coffee.
