Über diesen Titel

Depressed about her best friend's upcoming move to a new apartment, Jessica tries to cheer herself up by throwing a going away party.

From School Library Journal:

PreSchool-Grade 3-- Readers first met Jessica and Jason in The Mommy Exchange (Four Winds, 1988). Here, Jessica is trying to cope with the fact that best friend Jason is moving "all the way across town and uptown a bunch of blocks." The sorrow she feels about losing Jason is compounded when Jason tells her there's a boy in his new building who's "just about his size." Prodded by the thought that Jason might become best friends with this new boy, Jessica decides to give Jason a good-bye party. While the two friends share cookies underneath a bed-sheet tent, they finally begin to talk about the move. Like Ira and Reggie in Ira Says Goodbye (Houghton, 1988) , both children say some hurtful things to one another before admitting how much they'll miss each other, and end up reaffirming their friendship. DiSalvo-Ryan's full-color pencil and watercolor illustrations, in one-and-a-half- and double-page spreads, make this a good choice for sharing with groups. The action moves between the children's apartments, both of them realistically portrayed in soft, gentle colors and hazy lines that convey the sensitive feelings of the children as well as their understanding parents. --Laura Culberg, Chicago Public Library Cultural Center
