The C language is the best place to start for someone who is serious about learning to write real games. This book explains C programming as it relates to the game development topics in detail, but will not cover overly complex or difficult topics related to C as a programming language. It will focus on the standard C language and will utilize DirectX for the game library, focusing on game programming subjects rather than the logistics of DirectX. Each chapter will cover simple, small sample games to demonstrate beginning game programming techniques.
