This two-volume set contains papers presented at the symposium on Fundamental Questions and Critical Experiments on Fatigue held October 1984, in Dallas, Texas. Major sections cover fatigue of metal single crystals, nucleation of damage in metal polycrystals, fatigue of aluminum and other alloys (mechanical loading), combined fatigue and creep damage in metal alloys, environmental effects on fatigue, and the fatigue of nonmetals.
